Exams & Cleanings in Bethel, CT

The importance of routine dental exams and cleanings cannot be stressed enough. We recommend that our patients at Rejuvenate Dental Arts in Bethel visit us at least once every six months to make sure everything in their mouth is running smoothly.

Routine exams and cleanings have innumerable benefits. When combined with good oral hygiene habits in your day-to-day life, they can keep your teeth in excellent shape for the long term. By visiting your dentist twice a year, you’re taking an active role in the prevention of many oral health issues such as gum disease, gingivitis, and cavities.

As with any health issue, early detection is key. By keeping up with regular visits to our office, we’ll be able to start treating and stay on top of any problems that arise.

What Happens During Routine Dental Exams and Cleanings?

Upon your arrival, you’ll be checked-in by a member of our front desk team. They are responsible for arranging appointments, collecting payments, sorting out insurance, and are also the first point of contact when you visit Rejuvenate Dental Arts. You can direct your financial and scheduling inquiries to them.

Once you’re in the dentist’s chair, you’ll meet your dental hygienist, who will work on getting your teeth cleaned and ready for the exam. Before they get started on your teeth cleaning, your dental hygienist will assess your medical history and ask you pertinent questions regarding your oral care routine.

The cleaning involves scraping away any built-up residue, plaque, and tartar found both above and beneath the gum line. Once that’s cleared up, your dental hygienist will polish the surfaces of your teeth for a smooth and brilliant finish.

Before your dentist begins their examination, your hygienist will do a preliminary check inside your mouth, followed by some x-rays that are necessary for identifying issues underneath the gums and inside the teeth.

Next, your dentist will assess the films and evaluate your oral health. They will look for abnormalities or problems in your jaw, bite, and teeth. With the complete picture, your dentist can then prescribe advice or treatment to correct any issues that have been found.
